CIMSA Talk#18 Global Health Challenge : Achieving Universal Health Coverage

I had a wonderful conversation with @hfi_syihanst , the Alumni Director of @cimsanasional , about global health and universal health coverage. I was nervous since it was my first live Instagram session, but it turned out great. As we discussed global health, I insisted on having the session in English. Mastering English is a valuable asset for effective communication.

As anticipated, the discussion on global health is becoming more extensive. In about 40+ minutes, we covered several key issues:

✅ Current global health challenges
✅ Strengthening health systems with an in-depth conversation on health financing, including the budget cuts for global health
✅ Universal Health Coverage
✅ Indonesian National Health Coverage
✅ The Pandemic Agreement
✅ The World Health Assembly (WHA) 2025 with its global health agenda. Notably, Indonesia has finally been reassigned from the Southeast Asia Region (SEARO) to the Western Pacific Region (WPRO).

Finally, I encouraged the younger generation of CIMSA to contribute actively to global health, urging them to channel their interests and passions into concrete actions. Many activities can be pursued.

I gave them an example from my own experience. My career path is not to be a clinician but to work as a public health specialist, which I am currently doing. I have dedicated my public health career mostly to the World Health Organization (WHO) at the national and global levels. I want to enhance my experience at the regional level.

Ultimately, I will continue to dedicate my time to sharing my knowledge and experience with CIMSA members. Exactly 20 years ago, I was selected as the Vice President for External Affairs (VPE). I have grown significantly with CIMSA, benefiting from the organizational opportunities and soft skills, especially networking, I learned along the way. I connected to the world of possibilities. C is for CIMSA.

PS: Thanks to Sunil for fine-tuning my talking points at the last minute.
